Hughes Towing and Recovery ("Hughes," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website at hughestnr.com and provides towing, recovery, and roadside assistance services in Nashville and Middle Tennessee. We operate under USDOT number 5957031.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what control you have over it. It applies to our website, our online request forms, our phone and text communications, and the service we provide in the field.
If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use our website or submit a service request through it. You can always reach us by phone at (702) 427-4512 instead.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
When you submit a request through our website, call us, or text us, you may provide:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your email address
- The year, make, and model of your vehicle
- Your pickup location and your drop off location
- The type of service you need
- Whether the vehicle is drivable
- Any notes or details you add about the situation
When we perform a job, we may also collect:
- Your vehicle identification number, license plate, and odometer reading
- Payment information, which is processed by a third-party payment processor and is not stored on our systems
- Photographs of the vehicle and the scene, taken to document vehicle condition before and after the tow
- Signatures on service authorizations, releases, and invoices
- Insurance policy details, claim numbers, or motor club membership numbers when a third party is paying for the service
Information we collect automatically
When you visit hughestnr.com, our hosting provider records standard server information, including your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, the pages you viewed, the page that referred you, and the date and time of your visit. This information is used to keep the site running, diagnose problems, protect against abuse, and understand aggregate traffic patterns. We do not use it to build an advertising profile of you.
Our site loads typefaces from Google Fonts. When your browser requests those font files, Google receives your IP address. Google's handling of that request is governed by Google's own privacy policy.
Our website request form includes a hidden field that is invisible to human visitors. Automated bots often fill it in. If that field is completed, we discard the submission. This is an anti-spam measure and it collects nothing about you.
Information we receive from others
We may receive information about you from:
- Law enforcement or emergency dispatch, when they call a tow on your behalf
- Insurance companies and motor clubs, when they dispatch us to you under your policy or membership
- Property owners and property managers, in connection with vehicles removed from private property
- Repair shops, dealerships, and body shops, when they arrange transport of your vehicle
2. How we use your information
We use the information described above to:
- Dispatch a truck to you and complete the service you requested
- Contact you about your request, including to confirm details, give an arrival window, and tell you when the driver is close
- Quote and collect payment, and issue receipts and invoices
- Communicate with your insurer, motor club, or repair shop when they are involved in the job
- Keep records of vehicle condition so that damage claims can be resolved fairly
- Meet our legal, regulatory, insurance, and tax obligations, including recordkeeping required of motor carriers
- Improve our website, our service, and our response times
- Protect our people, our equipment, our customers, and our legal rights
- Send you follow up messages about your service and, where you have agreed to receive them, occasional messages about our services
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.
3. Phone calls and text messages
When you give us your phone number, you agree that we may contact you at that number about your service request by phone call, text message, and voicemail, including through an automatic telephone dialing system or prerecorded message. Consent to receive marketing text messages is not a condition of receiving service from us.
- Message frequency varies based on your service request and your interaction with us.
- Message and data rates may apply. Those charges come from your mobile carrier, not from us.
- Reply STOP to any text message to opt out of further text messages. Reply HELP for help. You can also call us at (702) 427-4512 to be removed.
- After you opt out, we may send one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed.
- Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- We do not sell or share mobile phone numbers or text message consent with third parties for their marketing purposes. This includes affiliates. Text message originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party except the messaging service providers who deliver messages on our behalf.
Opting out of marketing messages does not stop transactional messages related to an active job, such as a driver arrival notification. If you want no contact at all, call us and tell us, and we will note it on your record.
4. How we share your information
We share your information only in the circumstances below.
Service providers
We use the following third-party providers to run our business. Each of them is permitted to use your information only to provide services to us:
- Lovable, which hosts our website
- Supabase, which stores website form submissions in our database
- HighLevel (GoHighLevel), our customer relationship management platform, which stores customer records and sends our calls, texts, and emails
- Google, which serves the typefaces used on our website
- Our payment processor, which handles card transactions
- Our telecommunications and messaging carriers, which deliver our calls and texts
Parties involved in your job
We share what is necessary to complete the job with the people involved in it. Depending on the situation, that can include your insurance company, your motor club, the repair facility or dealership receiving your vehicle, the property owner or manager where the vehicle was located, and law enforcement.
Legal and safety
We disclose information when we are required to by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, and when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to investigate or prevent fraud, protect the safety of any person, enforce our Terms of Service, or establish or defend legal claims.
Business transfer
If Hughes Towing and Recovery is sold, merged, or transfers substantially all of its assets, customer information may be transferred as part of that transaction. Any successor would remain bound by this policy for information collected before the transfer unless you are notified otherwise.
5. Cookies and tracking
Our website does not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or third-party marketing pixels, and it does not load any analytics or tracking script.
Two first-party cookies are set, and both are strictly necessary for the site to work:
__cf_bm, set by Cloudflare to tell human visitors apart from automated traffic and to protect the site from abuse. It expires within thirty minutes.__dpl, set by our hosting platform so that your browser loads a consistent version of the site during your visit.
Neither cookie is used to identify you personally, to build a profile of you, or to follow you to other websites.
Because we do not track you across other websites, we do not respond to browser Do Not Track signals. Most browsers do not send a consistent signal and there is no common industry standard for interpreting one.
6. How long we keep your information
We keep service records, invoices, authorizations, and vehicle condition documentation for at least seven years. That period reflects our tax, insurance, and motor carrier recordkeeping obligations and the time within which a damage or payment dispute may be raised.
Website form submissions that do not result in a job are kept for two years and then deleted.
Marketing contact records are kept until you opt out, after which we retain only the minimum record needed to honor your opt out.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections to our website, access controls on our database, and credentials stored server side rather than in your browser. Card payments are handled by a payment processor and card numbers are not stored on our systems.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you send information to us at your own risk.
8. Your choices and your rights
Whatever state you live in, you may ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that is wrong
- Delete information we no longer need to keep for legal, tax, insurance, or dispute resolution reasons
- Stop sending you marketing calls, texts, or emails
To make any of these requests, email service@hughestnr.com or call (702) 427-4512. We will respond within forty five days. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we may decline a deletion request where we are legally required to keep the record.
We will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or give you a lower quality of service because you exercised any of these rights.
A note for Tennessee residents. The Tennessee Information Protection Act took effect on July 1, 2025 and applies to businesses above specific revenue and data volume thresholds. Hughes Towing and Recovery is below those thresholds and is not a covered entity under that law. We extend the rights described above to our customers as a matter of practice regardless.
A note for residents of other states. Several states, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, and Virginia, give residents statutory privacy rights. Hughes Towing and Recovery does not meet the applicability thresholds of those laws either. The rights described above are available to you regardless of where you live.
9. Children
Our website and our services are directed to adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under thirteen. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us at service@hughestnr.com and we will delete it.
10. Links to other websites
Our website may link to sites we do not control, such as a mapping service or a payment page. This policy does not apply to those sites. Read their policies before giving them information.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date at the top of the page. If we make a change that materially affects how we use information we already hold about you, we will make a reasonable effort to tell you directly.
